Road Trip Games – Fun Games to Play For Long Car Rides

So you’ve bought a nice car and love driving it but when you’re going on a long journey it can become quite boring, especially when you’re driving on a motorway.

Most of these games will be for the benefit of the passengers and not for the driver, as he or she has to concentrate on keeping control of the car. But with your friends or family being kept entertained it is one less worry for the driver.

Here are some of my favorite games for a long road trip.

Counting Animal Life

This is mainly for the kids. Whenever they see an animal such as a sheep, cow or horse they can mark it on a score sheet.

You can make it more interesting by asking them to say something about that animal when they spot it. For example when they see a cow, they might say it’s where milk comes from.

Doing just this will be too simple apart from the very young children but you can change it so they can only mark down and talk about particular types of animals such as birds.

Spot the License Plates

This game is something everyone can play. You’ll first of all need to make a list of all the areas in your country that have different license plates. For example if you live in the US then the list would include Arizona, Maine, Iowa, Texas etc.

Each person has a turn and when they see a license plate for an area of the country that hasn’t been found yet, they will mark it down and get a point. It’s a good idea to have a time limit, so if they can’t find a new type of plate within the given time then they will have to pass onto the next person and they will not receive a point.

The Unknown Star

This is one of the games where the driver can actually take part, as long as they obviously keep their eyes and mind on the road.

Someone will think of a famous film or TV star. The other people in the car take turns to ask one question about the star. The person who knows the star has to answer yes or no.

For example someone might think of Robert De Niro. Someone else might ask “Has the star won an Oscar?” The person would answer yes.

From these yes or no answers, the players can start to build some best guesses to whom the star is.

When someone thinks they know the answer, they can say but if they’re wrong then they’re booted out of that particular game.

You can also use the same idea for other games such as thinking of films or types of cars.

3 Fun Games to Play at Your Next Tea Party

Tea party games are always fun to plan. If you are looking for the best tea party games, you have come to the right place.

The first game is called Teacup Swap. Any number of people can play Teacup Swap and everyone is a winner! To play, each person needs a teacup and saucer. Let guests know in your invitation that they need to bring a teacup and saucer or you can provide one for each person if your party budget allows it.

When your guests arrive, have them place their teacups at their place setting or have them already arranged there if you are providing them.

Invite all of your guests to admire each teacup and saucer set by walking around the table. When everyone has finished looking, ask the first guest to arrive to be the first to choose a teacup. Continue in the order that the guests arrived in, go alphabetically, or have numbers drawn from a hat. Wherever the cup is, that is where they sit. This is a great game to use when people only sit by others that they know. Each guest will get a chance to pick their favorite, and no matter which teacup others choose, they will each end up with a lovely teacup and saucer to take home!

The second game you are about to learn is called Tea Tasting. This is a great game to play with smaller groups. Make sure that you have several teapots handy, and a little trinket to give away for a prize. Find a few different teas and prepare each in a separate teapot.

Let your guests taste a small bit of each tea, one at a time, without letting them know which is which. After everyone has tasted each flavor and guessed what they might be, award a prize to the best guesser. Don’t forget to write down what tea is in which pot so you don’t get confused! When buying your teas, make sure you purchase contrasting flavors. Familiar flavors are good if your guests are not usually tea drinkers (It will make the game easier for them).

In general, avoid buying mixed teas because the flavors can get confusing.

Try out these great teas for distinct flavors:

Peppermint
Rose Hip
Orange Zest
Green Tea
Lavender
Chai
Chamomile
Ginger
Raspberry

If you are looking for a silly game that is tons of fun, arrange for each guest to make a lovely tea party hat. Look at a craft store or a dollar store for inexpensive hat making materials. Don’t worry too much about finding the perfect craft supplies. Your guests are sure to get creative with whatever you supply. Need some ideas of what to buy? Here are a few ideas:

Silk flowers
Ribbons
Lace
Buttons
Beads
Thread
Bells
Fabric

The fabric can be tulle, which is inexpensive and can easily be cut into 1’x1′ pieces. Hot glue guns are needed for this project, so make sure you have some handy. Make sure you have one for every two people. If you do not have any hot glue guns handy, a few bottles of quick drying craft glue will suffice.

After your guests have finished decorating their hats, award prizes to the biggest hat, the silliest hat, the prettiest hat, etc. This game is lots of fun when everyone wins!

5 Fun Christmas Games to Play at Your Next Christmas Party

Christmas is the time for fun holiday parties with friends, family and co-workers. To make your next party a real hit you will want to have some fun Christmas games at your event. Below is a list of five fun games to play at your next Christmas party. These will get everyone involved in the joy of the holiday season.

Stocking Guessing Game – In this game you will have two large Christmas stocking and twenty x 2 (20×2) Christmas/Holiday objects. Make sure they are small enough to all fit in the stocking. Both stockings will have the 20 objects inside them. So you will need 2 of each to place in the stockings. Once you fill each one tie a string or robe around the top so nobody can see inside. You will then give everyone a piece of paper and let them know they have to figure out what the 20 objects are by feeling for them. The person with the most correct wins. You can do this with one stocking it will just make the game last longer.

Christmas Pictionary – Another great Christmas party game, you will be splitting up into teams of 3 or 4 depending on how many people are going to play. Set up a large pad of paper so everyone can see what will be drawn. Each group has to have everyone drawn something at least once. Make out about 20 to 30 cards to pick from all about Christmas, ex: Santa, Reindeer, sled, snow, north pole, etc. Every right answer gets one point and the first one to 5 wins.

Siamese Gift Wrap – For this Christmas game teams of 2 will race against the clock to see if they can wrap a gift. Sound simple? The twist is that they can only use one hand each, the other will be around their partners waist. They will have to work together to get it done the fastest. This is also a great way to get your gifts wrapped for free, just make sure it is nothing breakable.

Christmas Bingo – This is a printable Christmas game. You will need to print out some Christmas bingo game cards. For this do a search on the internet to find the ones that you like. Once you have the cards you want figure out how many numbers you will need and what letters for each one. Either right them out or do it on the computer and print them out. Then you will place them in a hat or bag and pull them out to call during the game. This can be a great game for kids and adults.

Christmas Trivia Games – For our last game let’s try to see how smart our party guests are. There are so many different categories for this game that it is almost endless. Here a just a few to get you started: Christmas movies, Christmas songs, Santa nick names, reindeer names, etc. As you can see you can have many different questions and really never run out. Once you figure out what you want the questions to be about do a search on the internet. You can find many printable Christmas trivia games so you don’t have to do a bunch or research or writing.

Have Fun!
