3 Fun Games To Play With Your Kids Bikes

Being a parent can be difficult sometime especially when it comes to finding fun things to do with your kid. With our four fun games, however, you can use your kids bikes to their full potential. Kids bikes are often overlooked as instruments that can be used for traveling or for a fun trip down the road. This simply isn’t true anymore. Start getting the creative juices rolling with our fun games and make your own kid’s bikes games that will definitely please your children.

Hide and Seek Cycle Style

The bicycle version of hide and seek is based on the old classic ‘Hiding’O’Seek’. You can try this game on a small plot of land somewhere or if you have a big garden. The principle of the game is that your child is only allowed to hide where they can hide with their bike. The seeker has to count to thirty and then find the hiders as quickly as possible. The first person to be found is the next seeker. Make sure that you have adults who can help keep control of where the children are going. Make sure they understand where they are not allowed to hide and where they can hide.

Create a bicycle competition

Children love it when they have something to aim for. Make your own bicycle competition by thinking of different ways for them to win. The prize can be a bag of candy or a new toy. Ask your children what they would like to win in a competition. If you can afford it, make that the prize. Two competitions that we host is a bicycle race. The first person who passes the finish line wins. Another competition we made was ‘Find the most of something’ competition. I played this during a park race. The child who collected the biggest amount of red leaves in thirty minutes won. It’s a definite child-pleasing game!

Litter Campaign

Parents should start educating their children about the importance of litter and the environment. For this reason our last game is a litter campaign. Give your children plastic bags and make them wear gloves and go on a litter search. Make the campaign as fun as possible and talk to your children about the benefits of cleaning our earth. Kids love to know they are doing something special for the planet.

Road Trip Games – Fun Games to Play For Long Car Rides

So you’ve bought a nice car and love driving it but when you’re going on a long journey it can become quite boring, especially when you’re driving on a motorway.

Most of these games will be for the benefit of the passengers and not for the driver, as he or she has to concentrate on keeping control of the car. But with your friends or family being kept entertained it is one less worry for the driver.

Here are some of my favorite games for a long road trip.

Counting Animal Life

This is mainly for the kids. Whenever they see an animal such as a sheep, cow or horse they can mark it on a score sheet.

You can make it more interesting by asking them to say something about that animal when they spot it. For example when they see a cow, they might say it’s where milk comes from.

Doing just this will be too simple apart from the very young children but you can change it so they can only mark down and talk about particular types of animals such as birds.

Spot the License Plates

This game is something everyone can play. You’ll first of all need to make a list of all the areas in your country that have different license plates. For example if you live in the US then the list would include Arizona, Maine, Iowa, Texas etc.

Each person has a turn and when they see a license plate for an area of the country that hasn’t been found yet, they will mark it down and get a point. It’s a good idea to have a time limit, so if they can’t find a new type of plate within the given time then they will have to pass onto the next person and they will not receive a point.

The Unknown Star

This is one of the games where the driver can actually take part, as long as they obviously keep their eyes and mind on the road.

Someone will think of a famous film or TV star. The other people in the car take turns to ask one question about the star. The person who knows the star has to answer yes or no.

For example someone might think of Robert De Niro. Someone else might ask “Has the star won an Oscar?” The person would answer yes.

From these yes or no answers, the players can start to build some best guesses to whom the star is.

When someone thinks they know the answer, they can say but if they’re wrong then they’re booted out of that particular game.

You can also use the same idea for other games such as thinking of films or types of cars.

Fun Games to Play With Your Dog Outside

There are many reasons for wanting to play with your dog. Aside from the fact that this is an entertaining activity for you both it also keeps your dog from getting bored plus it makes him healthier mentally and physically.

If you play with your dog on a regular basis, you develop bonds of understanding, respect, loyalty, and communication that remain forever. Games moreover are a fun way to train your dog to: obey you and not the other way around and to socialize with you and other pets you might have.

How can you tell that your pooch is bored? Observe his attitude, if he becomes destructive and often gets into trouble these are sure signs he has nothing to do.

Fun Outdoor Games For You and Your Dog

1) Fetch – There are canines which are natural fetchers and there are those who aren’t but all of them do love this game. You can use a stick or his favorite toy for this.

To play with your dog, throw the toy and tell him to fetch it and return it to you.

2) Frisbee – You both can exercise with this very physical game which is perfect for the overly active dog. This is just like a modified version of the fetch game where you throw a flying disk known as a Frisbee. Your dog should try to catch the Frisbee in midair or otherwise and bring it back to you.

Once you and your dog get really good with this you can opt to join competitions. Competitions are confidence boosters both to you and the dog itself.

3) Hula Hoop – This is a game you can play indoors or outdoors, start with a hoop appropriate to the size of your dog. Begin the game by laying the loop on the ground. If your dog figures out that he has to be in the center of the circle, praise or reward him.

After he’s used to this you can play with your dog by teaching him to jump through the hoop standing on its side raised inches above the ground.

4) Treasure Hunt – Dogs will love using their noses and powers of concentration in this game which you can play indoors or outdoors. Start with a treat that he really likes, show him the treat, and have him watch you put it behind a couch or a nearby bench.

Gradually make it harder for your dog to find the treat. If you want to teach your dog to find anything through this game, change the treats to shoes, or belt or any item that you can easily loose.

A Few Reminders

1) End the game while your pooch is still interested not when he is already bored. This is one of the techniques to establish control over your dog.

2) Don’t forget to reward your dog with his favorite treat if he successfully performs anything.

3) When playing with your already confident canine pet, letting him win all the time makes the him dominant. Instead of you controlling him, you now find yourself being controlled by your pet because he beat you over and over in your games.

4) If you play with your dog who is the shy type, let him win once in a while, this will develop his self confidence. However, don’t overdo this or you will create an overly confident dog.
